This March we’ll be championing complementary therapy week to give you an insight into the power of natural healing.
Complementary Therapy Week runs from Monday 23rd until Sunday 29th March and is all about trying to find those natural remedies to help with your ailments, mental health, and overall well being.
To celebrate and help you feel the power of holistic therapy we’ll be offering 15% off all our holistic treatments.
If you’re suffering from a painful back, sciatica, you constantly catch a dreaded cold, you’re feeling tense, anxious, stressed or you’re fed up with feeling tired and have no energy, then book yourself in for one of our incredible massages.
You’ll be able to enjoy one of our traditional Swedish massages, an Indian Head Massage, or relax with some Reflexology, and whatsmore, you can add aromatherapy oils for free.
Swedish Massage is one of our most popular massage treatments. Said to have been created by Swede, Per Henrik Ling in the 1830s, this massage technique focuses on improving circulation and flexibility by decreasing muscle toxins, while easing tension. It is great if you have aches and pains, you’re recovering from muscular injuries, you want to reduce stress and anxiety, or want to boost your immune system.
Indian Head Massages are deeply relaxing and have been around for thousands of years. They originated in India and are an alternative medicine called Ayurveda, translated as the science of life. Focusing on acupressure points in the head, neck and shoulders they help to improve physical well being by balancing energy levels within the three higher chakras. Not only do they relieve headaches and tension, but they can help to boost your memory, soothe sinuses, refresh tired eyes and improve sleep.
Reflexology is another ancient treatment and is thought to have originated in China in 2300BC. It is rooted in the Chinese belief of Qi (chee) and focuses on a person’s vital energy. The treatment involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet, hands, and ears in order to keep Qi flowing through the body. Reflexology is said to have many healing qualities including relieving aches and pains, improving digestion, correcting hormonal imbalances, and even boosting fertility.
There are also a number of other natural fixes you can make to help your overall well being. It is thought that adopting a vegetarian diet, cutting out alcohol and reducing your sugar intake can help the digestive system. Exposure to natural elements such as sunshine, fresh air, and heat or cold can help the circulatory system. Taking time to relax by practising meditation and yoga can greatly improve the central nervous system.
